About Beechwood Court

Nestled on the lower slopes of the beautiful Conwy mountain, this Victorian mansion was built in 1880 for the famed Stott family of industrialists.

Sitting in almost ten acres of mature woodland, Beechwood Court can accommodate up to 60 guests in single, double and family rooms. They have 3 relaxing lounges, and the former chapel also boasts 3 ground floor rooms with en-suite bathrooms.

Guests can enjoy mountain walks taking in a breathtaking view across the Conwy estuary towards the Great Orme limestone headland and the Victorian resort of Llandudno. On a clear day views all the way across to Angelsey are commonplace.

The historic walled town of Conwy is a 15 minute walk from the mansion where guests can visit Conwy Castle or the town and harbour.

They offer a wealth of recreational and sports activities for everyone. Guests can enjoy indoor bowls and table tennis. There is also a croquet lawn, multi-sports’ court and facilities for a barbeque.

The Beechwood Court Singles Week delivered everything it promised – a relaxed week of fun and fellowship in beautiful surroundings with first class hospitality. By day 2 a group of over 20 strangers were already becoming friends. Supportive leaders and a structured, but flexible, programme ensured that people of all ages were physically and spiritually refreshed.

We had full and half days out to Llandudno, Caernarvon and Anglesey. Evening activities included a film night, indoor cricket and trips to a local musical and a Male Voice Choir. Table tennis, carpet bowls and Giant Jenga provided further easy ways for people to bond. This was book-ended by reflections and group prayer each morning and evening. Nothing was compulsory, but most people joined in and relished each opportunity. Plus people chatted in twos and threes in the beautiful grounds and several agreed to keep in touch with each other.

Finally, Helen and the team provided excellent food and unobtrusive but excellent support. Nothing was too much trouble for them. A Beechwood Court car sticker says “where memories and friendships are made”. Amen to that.
