​Thought that I would send you a quick update. I was a member of friends first in 2008 and met James Scott. We were very well matched and fell in love fairly quickly though for the first few dates I wasn’t sure if we had a future. James proposed on January 17th 2009 (to which I was ecstatic to say yes!) and we got married on September 5th 2009. We had a beautiful day and James surprised me with a horse and carriage (I had wanted this since I was about 9). I had been looking for someone for 20 years and had almost given up hope but I continued to pray and to ask God to change me and prepare me for marriage which he did, I had a list of what I was looking for in a husband and I pretty much got everything that I asked for . James isn’t the type of man that I thought I would end up with but God knew better because he is the type of person that I needed and we work so well as a team. As a bonus I got incredible in-laws too! On August 15th 2010 we were incredibly blessed by the birth of our baby girl Catherine Grace.

I would like to say thank you to friends first for sending the details of my ideal match and encourage people to keep looking for the ideal person for them but not to be too inflexible on what they should like or what type of person they think they need. Also don’t go on first impressions or expect it to be love at first sight. Compatability rather than an “initial rush of feeling” has a lot going for it and we fell in love with each others character and know that we have lots of things to talk about and do together. We have discovered on our journey that love is not just a feeling!
