John and Sue – Never too late.

We were delighted to receive this lovely letter from one of our more senior members – 80 year old John from Stourbridge. It just shows that it’s never too late to find love and a partner to live the life you want to live.

Autumn and Michaelmas daisies are here with us, but early September brought us the hottest temperatures of this year.

Our wedding day on the 9th September was very warm and sunny, and Sue as bride looked beautiful, and the bridesmaids played their part with enthusiasm. The chosen venue was St. Nicholas church near Trowbridge and at a village hall after.

Sue had arranged everything excellently. The church service was short and included modern praise. At the reception we had music, songs, poem, speeches and enjoyable activities for the many children ran alongside this. Due to extreme heat we had to adapt some refreshments to suit the day but it was managed well.
55 people came, with relatives from both sides and friends from both areas enjoying the day.

We live at Stourbridge and spend a few days each month at Yarnbrook near Trowbidge. John is getting accustomed to a life with dogs ! Sue has already made friends and done some ministry work in the local area.

Our combined aim is to serve God, with different forms of outreach within the community and around the churches. This had already kicked off during spring and summer and we are both pleased with what involves a few changes of approach, and for the same Lord and Master.

You have played a part with all this. It is the right time to say thank you for your help support and encouragement given when these have been most needed. I’m grateful as ever for all your friendship and advice. We now aim to settle down and work the plan He has given us.
