Josephine’s story:

On the 24th January 1992 me and 2 other women, we decided to pray for husbands and we agreed to write the preferences: mine was a white British 75 to 85 year old, Christian with no children. My prayer partners said that my preferences were no good, that it was a very old man, by that time I was 42 years old. I convinced them and they agreed to help me. By that time, I was in Kenya with no hope of coming to England. That same night I had a dream; I was walking to a football field, in the middle of a field was dust red soil, I saw a white man standing under a tree because it was very hot. I stretched my right hand and he stretched his and we went to where I worked, I then woke up.

Then, after 2 weeks, around 4 or 5 a.m., I woke up and saw myself in a wedding dress. When I was busy thinking what is this, the vision faded. In 1995, I had an early retirement in June and in July I decided to jump over to England. In 2013 I saw an Elim City church magazine and spotted an advert for Friends1st, I joined and after 1 year I packed it off as it was fruitless. In March 2021 during the pandemic, I felt very lonely and decided to go back to friends1st. On the 1st of April I received the first batch of profiles. I spotted John and left a message. In the middle of May John called me, we agreed to meet at Victoria station at 1pm. We talked for quite a while and at 5.30p.m. we left each other, I felt as if I had known him for ages. That day we agreed that I would go to Bexhill on Sea to meet his sisters. From there, we continued meeting every two weeks and in September, we went on holiday to Devon. We went to Kerry in January, from there John came to see me. On the 13th Feb 2022, John proposed to me and I agreed to marry him. On 26th August 2022 we wed in a Salvation Army church where John attends since there was no slots in my church.

For our honeymoon, we went to Kenya. We visited the Masai Mara game park, an animal orphanage, giraffe centre, the Great Rift valley and ended in the slopes of Mount Kenya where we saw a tree 300 years old, we really enjoyed it.
John is a God given husband to Josephine.

John’s story: I joined friends1st in May. I had little success with correspondents and decided to quit. After 1 month I received an email from Josephine in London. I called her on the phone and we spoke for some time. We agreed to meet at Victoria station in London at 1pm under the clock. When I got to London, the clock had been removed so I contacted Josephine on the phone and finally we met. I couldn’t believe my eyes, on first impression when a coloured lady approached me, she looked so beautiful. We sat down for a few minutes then decided to go for a meal, it was dinnertime as I was very hungry! We talked over lunchtime and then we had a slow walk around the area, we got on so well, so we decided to meet again. We kept in touch on the phone and decided to meet at my home in Bexhill on Sea as I have a 2-bed bungalow. Josephine had to go back to London as she had a very ill daughter who passed away later, God rest her in peace. From there, we continued meeting until in February 2022 I proposed and she agreed to marry me.

On the 26th August 2022 we had a glorious wedding at the Salvation Army church in Hastings. After the wedding we went to Kenya for our honeymoon and had a lovely time. We went on safari in the game park, met the Masai Mara tribe and had the opportunity to go in to a Masai house only 8ft by 5ft. We learned about customs and because we had problems with registry, I must be the only man to marry the same woman twice in one month. One for family and friends in Kenya and once again in England in the Salvation army church with a registrar to make our vows and be bound. Josephine is my God given wife, she loves me, and I love her so much.
