Welcome Meet Katharine Gray the founder of friendsfirst. friendsfirst was set up in 1999 by Katharine Gray. Since since we know quite alot about our members through our contact with them over the telephone and through their profiles, it seems only fair that you should find out more about us! Welcome meet Katharine Gray founder of Friends1st Katharine set up friends1st in 1999 response to a church leader expressing a view that they wished ‘someone would do something’ for single Christians. The concept of a ‘meeting place’ for Christians was researched, trialed and launched in Birmingham and quickly spread throughout the UK and Ireland. That original concept of putting single Christians together in an easy non threatening way, with lots of support to help people on the way hasn’t changed from Day 1. We feel proud and honoured that God continues to use us to put amazing people together. Katharine’s passion to do this hasn’t changed and she still remains involved in every aspect of the service.
